I am a Finnish freelance translator with an MA in Translation Studies. I graduated from the University of Tampere, School of Language, Translation and Literary Studies in 2008. For my Master's thesis, I studied the quality and functionality of the so-called Internet subtitles (unofficial subtitles downloaded from the Internet) compared to the generally approved subtitling norms and also to the official DVD versions. Since my graduation I have worked as a freelance translator working mainly with http://www.proz.com/profile/614971 for whom I work as a translator and a proofreader. I have mainly translated user manuals for various electrical, mechanical and utility appliances as well as software and marketing material for medical devices. I have also worked on human resources materials. I am especially interested in dancing, crafts (sewing) and travelling which have become very familiar to me during my free-time, as well.
