Source text - English Marian Borkowski was born in 1934 in Pabianice, Poland. He studied composition with Kazimierz Sikorski and piano with Jan Ekier and Natalia Hornowska at the Academy of Music in Warsaw. Later he continued postgraduate studies in composition with Nadia Boulanger, Olivier Messiaen, and Iannis Xenakis. Since 1968 he has been on the faculty of the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw. There he has educated several dozen Polish composers and other students. His works have been recorded on over fifty professional albums. In addition to his work as a composer, Borkowski has also been an active music scholar and performer.
This album contains all of Borkowski’s a cappella choral compositions. Released during the 55th anniversary of his compositional career, the album also marks the 35th anniversary of the Polish Chamber Choir, a professional choir of 24 singers under the direction of Jan Łukaszewski. The active group performs roughly 80-100 concerts annually, ranging from a cappella works to large-scale oratorios, operas, and symphonic works. Over its history, the ensemble has premiered over 500 contemporary works and has recorded on over 70 professional recordings, including Penderecki: Complete Choral Works. Since 1983 they have been led by Jan Łukaszewski, a choral specialist who also leads the boys' and men's Choir Pueri Cantores Olivenses in addition to his teaching and other conducting duties.
Recorded in a resonant space, this album has sacred and secular compositions which are interspersed effectively into a compelling concert program. The first three selections on the album are based on sacred texts. The Libera me I opens with forceful declamatory statements, alternating with echoes of hushed reverence. With its consonance and homophonic texture, the music is quite accessible. While containing dissonances and some extended harmonies, it is reminiscent of more traditional motet settings.

Este álbum se ha publicado coincidiendo con el 55 aniversario de su carrera como compositor, y también marca el 35 aniversario del Coro de Cámara de Polonia, un coro profesional de 24 cantantes dirigido por Jan Lukaszewski. El grupo en activo realiza de 80 a 100 conciertos todos los años, con un repertorio que abarca desde obras a capela hasta grandes oratorios, óperas y obras sinfónicas. Source text - English The Third Annual United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights will take place from 1 to 3 December in Geneva, Switzerland. Pursuant to Human Rights Council resolutions 17/4 and 26/22, the Forum seeks to promote dialogue and cooperation on issues linked to business and human rights. It will discuss trends and challenges in the implementation of the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights: Implementing the United Nations “Protect, Respect and Remedy” Framework (“Guiding Principles”), including challenges faced in particular sectors, operational environments or in relation to specific rights or groups, as well as identify good practices.
The business and human rights agenda does not exist in a vacuum, but is continuously reshaped by global currents. The 2014 Forum is held at a time of urgent international security and health emergencies as well as critical structural challenges. These include climate change, decimation of eco-systems, global economic slow-down, youth unemployment, broken trust in the financial system, and domestic political tensions across regions. Central to several current global crises is the failure of States to ensure proper protection and respect for human rights. Another backdrop in a changing global landscape is the rising power and roles of corporations in society. Upholding human rights in the context of economic activity is at the heart of calls for scaling up responsible business practice, and understanding the roles and responsibilities of companies in this new context is one of the most significant challenges for global policymakers at the beginning of the 21st century. The Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights were designed precisely to address global governance gaps characterized by the lack of Government capacity or will to protect human rights and the increased reach and impact of corporations. They represent the first globally acknowledged framework to clarify the respective duties and responsibilities of Governments and business to prevent, mitigate and remedy adverse human rights impacts of business operations. Since their endorsement by the United Nations in 2011, they have been gaining ground. However, implementation by States and business remains patchy and has not yet reached scale. Wider and more effective uptake would contribute to better governance and equitable growth through upholding human dignity, respect for rights in the workplace and better business-community relationships. There are increasing calls for States and business to step up action, including for States to negotiate a legally binding instrument.

________________________________ is a government run primary/secondary school in _______ district. The School is a group of school stakeholders who represent the school and have taken responsibility for overseeing the implementation of the school business funded by Teach A Man To Fish.
Teach A Man To Fish is a UK registered charity (no. 1112699) working to improve the relevancy, quality and availability of education in developing countries. We aim to support educational institutions to set up profit-making school-run businesses. This model not only allows schools to generate income – improving their financial sustainability – but more importantly enables them to offer a more relevant and higher quality education.
This Memorandum of Understanding refers to the working relationship between NAME OF PARTNER and Teach A Man To Fish and the objectives of the School Enterprise Challenge 2015.
Purpose of the Partnership:
To promote the School Enterprise challenge to selected schools in The Partners’ network
To maximise the number of schools participating in the School Enterprise Challenge 2015
