Toko Kato
Translator – Freelancer
Ms. Toko Kato is an experienced freelance translator and simultaneous and consecutive interpreter in the following fields: medical; health care; social sciences; economics and finance; agriculture; tourism and travel; cooking and culinary arts; and cosmetics and beauty products and services. She is a native Japanese speaker with fluency in English and Spanish. She is also a program manager who oversees the evaluation of projects for international organizations, such as the World Bank and the United Nations, notably the Food and Agriculture Organization, in the areas of health, education and water and sanitation.
A representative list of organizations for which Ms. Kato has served as an interpreter includes: the German Tourist Bureau, the Olympic Committee for the Nagano Olympics, the Nagoya Aichi Expo, a large pharmaceutical company and an early stage LED product company etc., covering a wide range of subject matters and client needs.
Mr. Kato hold two Masters of Science degrees, the first in Rural Sociology from University of Wisconsin – Madison, which she received in 1997, and the second in Nutrition Science and Policy from Tufts University, which she earned in 2007. She completed her internship in nutrition science at National Institute of Health in Cuernavaca, Mexico in the summer of 2006. |
