There is no known method that will secure one player a decisive advantage over the other regardless of what the opponent does.
If there were, chess as a professional sport would most likely cease to exist.
Winning a game of chess depends on one's opponent making inaccurate moves.
The question "What is an inaccurate move?" can best be answered by trial and error.
Take the opening position shown in the diagram.
It is White's move.
Why do almost all serious players begin by moving either a central pawn or the king's knight?
Simply because the results of millions of chess games have given these moves a better reputation than the alternatives.

Thanks for visiting my page. I have been working as a freelance translator since 1990. I translate for various agencies located in the UK, the USA, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, and Brazil (new clients from Canada, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden added to this list in 2009 and 2010). That is why Sharp World Clock, an international clock showing different time zones, is one of the favourite programs on my desktop. Although I am specialized in legal, business and financial translations, most of the time I find myself translating technical manuals. Well, it is time to call myself a generalist translator then. (Addition: Now I can call myself an expert in fashion translation, after working in this field for 11 years). Please feel free to contact me for any subject; after seeing a sample text I will decide to take it, or recommend you another translator. I know some good translators in my language pair and can recommend another colleague if the subject is, say archery, beyond my knowledge, or the project is 5,000 words due tomorrow, which is far beyond my daily capacity.
Today many agencies asking for translation of repetitive technical texts or tagged documents require use of CAT tools. I am a proficient user of many CAT tools. Déjà Vu X3 is my favourite CAT tool and many of my clients prefer it; but I also use SDL Studio, Trados WorkBench and TagEditor programs regularly for some clients since 2001. I also have and sometimes use other major CAT tools, namely Studio, SDLX, Star Transit, IBM Translation Manager and Idiom. As for desktop publishing programs, although I am not a DTP expert, I have long years of experience with some of them (Adobe's FrameMaker, PageMaker, InDesign, Photoshop, and the good old QuarkXPress). Needless to add Adobe Acrobat to this list; and considering the wide usage of pdf documents in our industry, I also use many pdf conversion and OCR programs. And of course, I have the complete Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and Publisher).
Before the age of Google and electronic dictionaries, I used to search terms in my dictionaries. And approximately 200 of these dictionaries are still on my shelves. And before the hi-tech computers with dual core (I have two of them, one laptop and one desktop), I used to translate with a typewriter. And believe, it was not the nineteenth century. Anyway, this is another story and I don't even remember where my old typewriter is.
Using all these CAT & DTP programs, e-dictionaries, brand new computers, e-mail (no more snail mail) does not make one the best translator, these are only the tools of a 21st-century translator, similar to a plumber using cordless screwdriver. But note that, these are all valuable (and expensive) companions to a good translator, and I believe that with my 25-year experience plus the proficient use of the said CAT & DTP tools, you will find out that I am a good translator, with reasonable prices.
