Source text - English How does a water softener work?
A water softener removes the hardness minerals from the water through a process called “ion exchange.” The water softener contains a special ion-exchange resin, which attracts dissolved hardness
ions (calcium and magnesium), much like a magnet attracts iron particles, and removes them from the water. The resin, in its “charged form,” contains sodium ions, which it releases to the water as a replacement or in “exchange” for the hardness ions.
Eventually, the resin can contain no more hardness ions, and must be “regenerated” by passing sodium chloride (salt) in the form of a dilute brine over the resin to displace the accumulated hardness ions.
During the “regeneration process,” the water softener is “off-line” and the cleansing brine solution and displaced hardness ions are disposed to the sewer. Once regeneration has been completed, the water
softener is returned to household service and is ready to again remove hardness ions from the water.
My expertise stems from my work in the field of advertising in Bogotá, Colombia primarily as a copywriter. Upon moving to the United States, I wanted to expand on that background and started working in translations. My passion is working with words. Translations shouldn’t be just moving a word from one language to another. It is essential to bring out the true meaning and how it is being said.
I believe I can offer your company the top-notch translation services many other businesses in the Twin Cities have been utilizing. Over the last twelve years, I have provided services for multinational companies.
As a small business, I have the flexibility to meet varied requests and deadlines from large projects to quick turnarounds. I have done commercials, informational videos, store ads and training manuals to name a few. I am also a member of the American Translators Association.
