Source text - English Handling Compact Discs
Compact discs are high-density media that must be handled with care and kept clean to ensure that they remain readable. Use the following precautions to ensure reliability:
- Hold the compact disc by the edges. Do not touch the surface of the compact disc.
- To remove dust or fingerprints, wipe the compact disc from the center to the outside of the compact disc, as shown. Attention: Wiping the compact disc in a circular direction can cause loss of data.
- Do not write on the surface.
- Do not store or place the compact disc in direct sunlight.
- Do not use benzene, thinners, or other cleaners to clean the compact disc.
- Do not drop or bend the compact disc.
- Do not store or place the compact disc in a dirty or dusty environment, or in a humid or hot location.
- Do not attempt to re-use labels.
- Store discs in their case when they are not in use.
Loading a Compact Disc Horizontally
To load a compact disc into a horizontally mounted drive, do the following:
- Press the Load/Unload button to open the tray. The tray slides out of the drive.
- Fold away the stopper (D) at the back of the tray.
- Lower disc holder A and B so that they are the same height as the tray.
- Place the compact disc in the tray with the label facing up. The disc must fit inside the tray's disc guides (12cm and 8cm) for the DVD-RAM drive to be able to read the disc.
To close the tray, press the Load/Unload button, or gently push the tray in.
Translation - Latvian Kompaktdisku lietošana
Paliktnis izslīd no diskdziņa.

If you entrust your translation project to me, you can count on the following:
- Adherence to deadlines- Quick turnaround times- Accuracy and professionalism in communication- Industry-standard quality procedure- Use of various CAT tools
Here is a brief description of my experience in various fields of specialization:
Information Technologies
My main field of expertise. Volumes exceed several million words. I am an expert computer user and have previously worked as a technical writer, creating documents for various systems and solutions - this enables me to understand even the most complex IT concepts and processes. During my 13 years in IT translations I have acquired vast knowledge of IT terminology, basically, I have been in the business from the very formative age of Latvian IT terms, following terminology development and changes. Some of the end-customers I have worked for in this field are Acer, CyberLink, GemPlus, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Microsoft.
Telecom
In the era of telecommunications and the impetuous growth of the number of communication device users, the availability of high quality, understandable reference material is of vital importance. It has been my pleasure to translate manuals and localize the interfaces of communication devices of such manufacturers as Siemens, Sony Ericsson and Nokia.
Automotive
Since 2003, I have invested a lot of research work in the field of automotive terminology. During this time I have created an outstanding glossary, which I use for reference when translating texts related to the automotive industry. In my career as a professional freelance translator, I have translated dozens of owner's manuals, service booklets and other documents, including manuals for infotainment systems. Here is a listing of some of my end-customers in this field: Cadillac, Chevrolet, Hummer, Opel, Saab, Volvo Trucks.
Other
My work is not limited to these main subject fields. I will gladly accept texts of most general subject areas, declining only highly specialized material that is outside my scope of competence. I would like to highlight a few other subject fields that I consider myself to be knowledgeable in: agricultural equipment (grain dryer and processing machinery),manufacturing (documentation for a bio-diesel plant in Latvia), government/politics (EU institutions, Latvian governmental institutions), consumer electronics etc.
