I have a very strong academic background in child education
combined with over twelve years work experience in Romanian and British schools
and, after graduating university, the opportunity to work as a media analyst
for the Press Department in the Romanian Parliament, means that I’ve had the
prospect of learning from a variety of fields. This led me to start an engaging
job, in the UK, as a Romanian interpreter with solicitors, providing the
necessary link between them and their clients. I have worked at solicitors’
offices, in court and in prison settings. Since 2019 I have concentrated on the
medical aspect of interpreting, as an NHS interpreter. The experience of working as a teacher gave me lifelong
skills to assess performance, knowledge and skills and provide the feedback required
for improvement. I have started working freelance as a translator/interpreter for
a foreign company based in Romania. This gave me the opportunity to also edit
and proofread company documents. My years of working as a media analyst have
helped to improve my analytical and fact checked skills, to expand my knowledge
of social and political life and write various reports according to the
guidelines provided. Since working as an interpreter, I’ve had to work
independently and have had many positive remarks from colleagues, professionals
and clients for the quality of my work.
