My name is Alexei Alexandrovich Maximov.
I have 13+ years of experience as a full-time translator at the Russian Translation Service of the United Nations Secretariat in New York, with excellent performance evaluations throughout my United Nations career.
In 1999, I left the United Nations to work as a freelance translator/interpreter and a marketing consultant for a number of international companies. Since then, I have worked in places as diverse as New York, Vermont, Moscow, Quito, and Kiev.
My main areas of specialization and interest are related to business and economics, international law and commerce, marketing and advertising, as well as natural medicine and nutrition. In addition to linguistic work, I have many years of hands-on experience in brand development and management, marketing and localization.
Having spent most of my adult life in an English-speaking environment, I am fully bilingual and capable of handling both English-Russian and Russian-English jobs with the same degree of professionalism and accuracy.
I have graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) in 1985, with majors in International relations and English. In 1986, I have completed a one-year United Nations Language Training Course and successfully passed the official United Nations examination for translators and interpreters.
