Hello,
I've encountered another term during my translation that I am not sure how to translate.
"Todo indica que las claves que has sustentado el turismo espanol desde los anos sesenta estan agotadas y que una serie de temas centrales estan alterando de forma sustancial sus cimientos."
Dictionary meanings do not offer options that would be viable within the given context. I do understand what it means but I am very lost about how to put it in word(s). I believe that the author is referring to the fact that those factors the Spanish tourism was built on (such as coastal mass tourism) are now exhausted, they don't function any more given the current situation in which environmental awareness plays a major role.
My attempt is:
Everything points to that the key factors that have sustained Spanish tourism since the 70s are exhausted and that a series of key topics is fundamentally altering its foundations.
But I am not entirely happy about the choice of words.
I would very much welcome your opinion and suggestions.

For the expression "una serie de temas centrales están alterando..." I would rather say "a series of main issues are affecting..."

I must say that I found a bit different translation when I looked at the text later - "cornerstones" - which I believe depicts the deeper meaning of the sentence. Then of course the original translation needs a bit of a change: The cornerstones on which Spanish tourism has been based on since the 1960s...." etc. What do you think?
