Spanish term
Trabajo de hormiga
Spanish to English
Other
Other
Informal language
Muchas gracias.

to beaver away the job
it's the sort of job where you have to beaver away at the details
There is no real equivalent in English. In French they use the same expression as in Spanish so it's obviously a Latin-language thing.
I prefer "beaver" to "bee" because of the notion of "beavering away" but it is not the exact equivalent you are looking for.
In context, you could perhaps call it a back-breaking job or a fiddling (little) job because it is something that requires a lot of time-consuming, painstaking effort

you would probably refer to this sort of job as : a thankless task

: This gets across the idea of "undesirable". Another one I can think of (more colloquial) is "grunt work".

Hard work
