Spanish term

Sectorización de plantas

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Health Care Infectious diseases

¡Gracias!

PLANTA -> "Hospitals consist of departments, traditionally called wards, especially when they have beds for inpatients, when they are sometimes also called inpatient wards. Hospitals may have acute services such as an emergency department or specialist trauma centre, burn unit, surgery, or urgent care. "

So, "sectorization of departments" could be another option (departmental sectorization)...

Sectorization of Hospital Zones

Hospitals are divided into zones where each of them are comprised of different departments.
Here is the link of a very useful explanation of a hospital's planning or designing and the general division that a hospital has:

Isolation and Quarantine

Sectorization would be a literal translation, and I think it would be understood, but the terms we use for biological outbreaks is isolation and quarantine. Both of these would happen at a hospital to keep the infected person safely isolated, and to keep the medical personnel that has come in contact with them also under supervision, so that there is no spread of disease. This is a part of biocontainment procedures for high-biosafety level zones. Eventually, they can create a working biocontainment unit to care for the patients, but first, everyone just needs to be segregated.

Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick.
Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick.
