gives/hands down/ communicates its ruling on the case

In plain English, with multiple options, for what appears to be an extract from a company's internal regulations, as distinct from a very formal legal context.

agree neilmac : I like "ruling"… Every attempt I make at the sentence just gets worse :-)

Actually, the automatic translation is probably more accurate, as the executive simply has to make the final decision.

NB: I agree with Phil's comment above (you could just say "for a decision").
Example sentence:

although the head office did not issue a statement on the resolution...

...but did issue a "Statement on the resolution of FOIA disputes

to the effect that same advocates the resolution (agrees with the r.)

Or "FOR THE PURPOSE that same (i.e. the firm) SPEAKS UP for the Resolution (or declares that it is in favour of the Resolution)

"pronunciarse sobre la validez de una papeleta" means to decide on the validity of ......
this formulation equally implies that the firm will come up with a Statement on the Resolution (as to whether it accepts or rejects it)
Peer comment(s):

disagree AllegroTrans : Nobody is advocating anything here, it's simpy about the Management making a decision on an harassment complaint
