La situación que se ironiza es la del difícil equilibrio de fuerzas entre ambas potencias, ya que con episodios como el intento de invasión de Cuba por parte de cubanos exiliados apoyados por los norteamericanos y la posterior instalación de misiles nucleares en la isla que apuntaban a los EE.UU., la Guerra Fría había llegado a un grado de altísima tensión que sus dos máximos dirigentes se vieron obligados a solucionar como si de dos equilibristas se tratase.
