I would be very grateful for any suggestions on how to translate 'Anulación de una Norma'. I'm not sure if it's 'cancellation' or 'annulment', or something similar.
Many thanks in advance,

I don't think it matters which synonym you use.

Comment: "Many thanks for this suggestion Phil. I think in this context, a general overview of how standards are created, 'withdrawn' is perhaps the best translation.
In Jennifer's link, BSI also use the term 'withdrawn'.
Many thanks to everyone for these suggestions.

Spanish term (edited):
anulación
supersedes
In Asker's context (the image), Anulaciones in the left side of the image is the header for a list of reference numbers of earlier versions of the same standard (same 'core number') that are anuladas as a result of the publication of the newer version.
As explained here (in relation to British Standards, but the principle and terminology is the same):
https://memberportal.bsigroup.com/public/2021/may/when-is-a-...
these older standards are 'superseded' (but may remain 'current') - and this is not the same thing as Phil's 'withdrawn'.

Thanks for taking the time to suggest this translation Adrian. I think in this context 'withdrawn' is perhaps the best word to use. |
