Spanish term

alta disponibilidad

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Business/Commerce (general)
I am pretty sure there must be an official translation of this phrase. I know what the words mean, but I would like help on any official translation used in English.

Here is some context:

Lo anterior, sin perjuicio que a partir del mes 18 contado desde la firma del Contrato el centro de cómputo principal deberá contar con alta disponibilidad.

Los equipos a instalar deberán contar con la capacidad para la atención de los volúmenes previstos de los diferentes tipos de sorteos en operación; a los 18 meses de transcurrido el contrato se deberá contar con alta disponibilidad en el centro de cómputo principal, asimismo, deberán cumplir, de manera enunciativa, más no limitativa, con los siguientes requerimientos

Thanks in advance!

Laura

I think this would be it.

or \"need to be able to accomodate high demand\"--it depends on how you will translate the sentence.

\"se deberá contar con alta disponibilidad en el centro de cómputo principal\" is a bit tricky to translate. \"we need to rely on high availability of the main computer center\" sounds kinds of strange. I would turn it around so it says \"the main computing center must be able to accomodate high demand\", or \"we are relying on the main computing center to be available\" or even \"to be immediately available\".

High Availability
As more and more mission-critical applications move on the Internet, providing highly available services becomes increasingly important. One of the advantages of a clustered system is that it has hardware and software redundancy, because the cluster system consists of a number of independent nodes, and each node runs a copy of operating system and application software. High availability can be achieved by detecting node or daemon failures and reconfiguring the system appropriately, so that the workload can be taken over by the remaining nodes in the cluster.

In fact, high availability is a big field. An advanced highly available system may have a reliable group communication sub-system, membership management, quoram sub-systems, concurrent control sub-system and so on. There must be a lot of work to do. However, we can use some existing software packages to construct highly available LVS cluster systems now.
