Read the three responses so far. Thanks to all. I selected Marian's answer as it seems to fit in best yet I must say Parrot's answer "Family Business" is by far the nearest to all the definitions I've come accross myself, yet it didn't fit in in the text in question. Not a capital society in this case. Thanks to all.

agree María Eugenia Wachtendorff : ¡Hola, Marian! Tu respuesta es correcta, pero "corporation" es lo más correcto en este caso, por ser el nivel más bajo de sociedad patrimonial. Mi fuente es 100% confiable (le importa que me vaya bien... así no le pido dinero!!!)

Not necessarily a holding company. A corporation is the lowest level, and I would use it by all means.
