To clarify my comment on the use of "coulter", I am referring to the header (catalogue) name of these devices, which nowadays tends to be seeder disk/disk seeder. More specific technical words (like coulter) tend to be left for the smaller print, the detail.

seeding coulters

I think they are referring to the discs that actually deposit the seed in the furrow/the ground, and this term generates a lot of hits. I don't think seed discs is wrong, but some planters have interchangeable rotary discs with appropriate size holes in the machine itself that allow the seed to fall through. But the things that actually put the seed in the ground are usually referred to as coulters, and I think that's what they're talking about here.

agree neilmac : True, but in Europe all the big firms just call them seeder disks now, and "coulter" is rarely used. Off topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coulter's_Candy

Yes, but I think disks are still used for this. Thanks!
agree neilmac : We usually call it a "seeder disk" part of a "disk seeder"...

seeder disk

The kind of machinery use is usually referred to as "disk seeder". This would be the "seeder disk".
This is basically Patinba's answer with -er grafted onto it, so sue me. I didn't have enough room to wax lyrical about it in the agree section. Am not sure what the (apparently non sequitur) intention of the "neutral" posted is, (apparently non sequitur) ...
