When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

solid balance sheet
Not to mention - bankers love nothing more than seeing a solid balance sheet with healthy cash reserves and a balanced capital structure

: 'Ventas netas' and EBITDA aren't balance sheets//The balances you mention are operating account balances. They have nothing to do with a balance sheet

Really? Strong figures for net sales and EBITDA *reflect* a solid balance sheet, or don't they?//Let's agree to disagree, sorry you don't understand my writing.

Of course they are not balance sheets. But they can be a sign of the solidness of the balance sheet... The solid balance sheet is a consequence (among other factors) of good net sales and EBITDA. Correct?

: 'strong' is OK, but there's no mention of 'P&L' in the question - only sales and earnings.

You're right. I misread the question. They're referring to the "balance sheet" here.

: A falta de contexto, siendo ventas y EBITDA parte el P&L, estoy de acuerdo.

strong balance sheet
The strength of a company's balance sheet can be evaluated by three broad categories of investment-quality measurements: working capital, or short-term liquidity, asset performance, and capitalisation structure.
A strong balance sheet goes beyond just necessary accounting; businesses with strong balance sheets are more likely to survive economic downturns and be ready to drive strong growth when the environment flourishes once more.

It reads like a financial summary to me. A strong balance sheet, net sales of $$$, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of $$$.

Thanks. I think solid, strong, and sound all work. I'm just used to hearing strong, or it being referred to as the strength of a company's balance sheet.

sound balance sheet

Companies with a strong balance sheet, solid past performance, and high return on equity.

: The question isabout the word "sólido" in the context of financial statements in general (which ones in particular is not elevant). In finance "sound" is the term most commonly used.

: You can't use 'balance' like this in English. And your disagrees with others' answers are wrong - sales and EBITDA are not being cited as examples of balance-sheet items.

The concept of balance is an accounting concept. What's the problem? On top of that, the text mentions two balances.
