Discussion

PoveyTrans (X) (asker) Mar 6, 2013:
Thanks - that's what I suspected but wasn't sure.
sanjamil Mar 6, 2013:
That means that your colleague is not the same person as his/hers client.
Because, when the law suite is over you should continue to have good relations with your colleague.
PoveyTrans (X) (asker) Mar 6, 2013:
Thanks but what does identify mean here?
sanjamil Mar 6, 2013:
It means that colleagues should keep good relations inside and outside the court. They should not identify their colleagues with the persons they represent before the court.

Whoever the client may be (for example, a child molester), his lawer should never be identified with his client.
Note from asker:
Yes, I have that basic meaning but what does it mean here, that's my question.
OK, thanks

Hvala :)
agree Miloš Stojanović : And if I may add, the implication is that the lawyer should always remain professional toward his/her colleague on the opposite side regardless of the fact that the client on the opposite side may not deserve to be sympathised with.
