Following up on my other question, the same character is also a высший демон, which is essentially a higher caste among his race. And others often refer to him as such, as though it's a rank or title. Same problem as with my other question, a literal translation sounds silly.
I've been using 'Elder' as a placeholder, but it's not ideal so I'm definitely keeping my options open. TIA.

That is aristocracy, I'd say.

Comment: "Again, very difficult to answer, and I ended up going with my placeholder. Simply going with the community here since I dislike keeping kudoz questions ungraded. Thank you everyone for trying."

Supremo
How's that for a title?
Eminence?

Well, this isn't exactly my genre, as you know. The Ultimo? He of the Dark Race? He of the Night? Oh-Ye-the-Dark-One? Dark Fury-since they are all such vehement belligerents?

Note from asker:
Dusky, Supremo... I'm laughing my butt off :D Not sure it works too well in a fantasy setting though. It needs to be all somber and menacing. |

I'd use "high" or "higher" in conjunction with "demon" according to the same pattern as in the above article (personally, I'd choose "higher" over "high" here). Erikson's Malazan series refers to "Demon Lords" in a similar context, IIRC.
