1 A crossing of Bratsk water reservoir is located 13 km to the north of Balagansk and 850 m lower than bay site of Lomonosov fold. A width of water basin is 4 km, a depth is up to 35-36 m. Crossing bottom topography is very complex: two river benches (20-30 m), floodplain terraces of right and left banks and old course of the Angara (5-6 m) divided by drowned island in two branches.

split by a submerged insland into two branches

протоки can mean arm, branch, anabranch, channel, etc., depending on the object - river, delta, etc.
пади is the name of small river valleys, deep valleys, ravines, gulleys, intermontane depressions. I'm not aware of it meaning "fold."

Ooops, island not insland.
Also в 850 м ниже = 850 m downstream of...
залив can also mean a low-lying area where the river spills over, flooding - loosely, a floodplain
possibly \"850 m downstream of the site of flooding the small Lomonosov valley.\"
I doubt if a \"fold\" would have a \"bay.\"

Just a suggestion....

agree Kasvukas : "створ" seems to indicate a specific observation point, line of sight, or river transect, see ecograde.belozersky.msu.ru/p526.htm and ecograde.belozersky.msu.ru/p5264.htm

Thank you. Yes, "створ" in hydrology, etc., has many meanings: gauging site, gauge line, discharge site, control, basin outlet, etc.
