Romanian term

in nume propriu

Romanian to English Law/Patents Law (general) Legal authentication document
I am unclear on the connection of this phrase here, and who it relates to. The issue seems to be a Ukrainian evacuee, who has used a translator.
NOTE: I am aware of the literal translation (on my behalf / in my name etc). I am trying to figure out where it connects to the narrative.

In fata mea, .....etc....s-a prezentat:
XXX....Passport details, IN NUME PROPRIU, care, dupa ce i s-a tradus actul de catre XXXXXX, traducator autorizat conform autorizatiei nr. xxx, a declarant ca i-a inteles continutul, ca cele cuprinse in act reprezinta vointa ei, a consimtit la autentificarea prezentului inscris si a semnat unicul exemplar.

Simon Charass May 14, 2022:
@ Lara In my opinion it refers to the data of the passport which has been inserted according to the bearer's name, IN NOME PROPRIO, and who understood, agreed and signed ...
Edmond Nawrotzky-Török May 13, 2022:
@ Peter

You might be right, although, if it says "persoana", we would still be in the dark. Documents change over time, with this gender madness.
Lara Barnett (asker) May 13, 2022:
@ Peter Oh I see, thanks. Sorry, this is such a rushed job I tried to rush through without focussing on details, which I guess is what normally causes the problems!
Peter Shortall May 13, 2022:
Edmond was referring to the evacuee, as I was. He wrote "the lady / the gentlemen" (just as I wrote "his/her", as we didn't know the gender initially) and then corrected "gentlemEn" to "gentlemAn". Though now that I have reread the sentence, I notice that "ei" (her) was there near the end all along, so I guess we both missed it!
Lara Barnett (asker) May 13, 2022:
@ Peter SO it is this passport holder that agrees to have understood and consent to authentication etc.? So Edmonds comment about "he, gentleman" relate the translator? (the war evacuee is female).
Lara Barnett (asker) May 13, 2022:
@ PETER Thanks, that is helpful, so the person of the passport details (evacuee).
Peter Shortall May 13, 2022:
It refers back to person XXX. It means that XXX is acting/appearing in his/her own name for the purposes of whatever is being done here, as opposed to having someone else represent them.

God bless, Mrs Barnett,

the document wants to say that the lady / the gentlemen was there in person, id est, that she was not represented by someone else.

I hope I was able to help you, have a God-blessed week.

Kind regards

Edmond Nawrotzky-Török
