From my experience of looking after elderly relatives in the UK, the term used is simply 'gait' on its own. It is a technical term in this context and is very specific.

Here is an example of how it is analysed:

“Objective gait analysis allows measurement or calculation of walking speed, cadence (steps per minute), stride time and length (from one heel strike to the next one by the same foot) and step time and length (from heel strike of one foot to heel strike of the other)...”
