Portuguese term

bem objeto

Portuguese to English Bus/Financial Petroleum Eng/Sci Bid Primer
'Good' evening.

Yes, bem or bens = good or goods, no problem, but the 'good object' or 'object good'. I'm not comfortable. See the full phrase below:

"O conteúdo local de contratação de Bens para Uso Temporal, será mensurado através do Conteúdo Local (CLb) do bem objeto de tal atividade."

Cheers :)

Assuming 'asset' doesn't work here (platforms, vessels, etc).

See explanation ("goods that are being acquired/rented/hired")

"objeto de" I usually translate by making a verbal form out of what follows the "de". Other options are "subject to", "under" etc.

BUT in your case, I would put it like "The local content of the goods acquired/rented/hired for temporary use shall be measured by the Local Content of Goods formula ("CLb") applied to the specific Activity/Contract/Agreement."

The CLb is an official formula created by the National Petrol Agency (http://www.slideshare.net/Victorslideshare/cary-4712707) ("ANP") and is stated in percent according to the quotient of the following:

(total commercialization value of a good - excluding IPI and ICMS taxes MINUS the value of its imported portions)

DIVIDED BY the total commercialization value - excluding IPI and ICMS, calculated according to the Local Content Portfolio methodology.

In your case the "Conteúdo Local de Bens para Uso Temporal" is a specific formula itself (CLa) that is calculated by applying the CLb to the value of the contract according to which the use of the good is determined.

This is basically what your client tried to say.

Thanks. I had to award the points based on peer agrees here. Best of luck for the future.
