Essa frase tem sido citada de formas diferentes, por diversos autores, talvez porque Bell a tenha repetido de forma ligeiramente diferente, seja porque são relatos indiretos.

agree Humberto Ribas : Não posso afirmar,mas parece-me que esta frase foi dita a Bell por D. Pedro II, na Exposição de Filadélfia quando o Imperador experimentou o telefone e foi traduzida para Bell, por ele. Don't quote me.

Obrigado, Humberto. Como eu disse acima, a frase foi usada por Bell em diversas ocasiões, e essa pode haver sido uma delas.
