Discussion

Roberto Bittencourt Jan 28, 2012:
Well... what"s happening over here? Excuse me, but I"m understanding nothing... The ASKER doesn"t have context (but she found it in Google... that"s it?)
And the colleague Sheryle presents the text to be translated... is this the text the ASKER is translating?
judith ryan (asker) Jan 27, 2012:
Unfortunately there is no more context, this is a chart with bullet points. I find it in Google but have been unable to find what the correct term is in English
Roberto Bittencourt Jan 27, 2012:
Judith, where"s the rest of the phrase? it´s needed to give the context... the term can refer to various things, like geographical, physical, business focus or end-products, with different meanings

location of plant/unit/turbine

The difference in capital expenditure (Capex R$ 1 b) is so high that the chart entry is probably not referring to a turbine with a different axis (vertical/horizontal/inclined-axis wind turbine, for example). Consequently, location seems more likely, as indicated by the following note:

Por meio da Nota Técnica no 254/2011-SCG/ANEEL, de 29 de julho de 2011, a SCG complementou as análises efetuadas na Nota Técnica no 77/2011-SCG/ANEEL, reiterando as conclusões nela contidas, no sentido de para autorizar a empresa Mizu S.A. apresentar revisão do Projeto Básico da PCH Marechal Floriano, com partição do eixo original em dois outros eixos, desde que a soma das potências seja no mínimo igual a 26.100 kW, como originalmente outorgada e não haja interferência nos aproveitamentos de montante e jusante, com vistas à alteração do ato autorizativo caso seja aprovado (in which case, more than one turbine would apparently be required).

Obs: To save space on the chart, it may be best to write /plant location/ (or, depending on the context, /unit location/ or/ turbine location/). After all, there tends to be some hint of context even in charts.

neutral Roberto Bittencourt : this is a deduction... the asker confirmed that this is the original text?

The original text? Who knows. A logical deduction? A confirmed possibility? Yes. Whatever the final answer, thanks for being there, engineer.
agree T o b i a s : highly probable; see, for example, http://rondoniadigital.com/destaque/cpi-das-usinas-vai-convo...

Thanks, Tobias. Glad someone else found a similar use of the term, and for a different project yet. We are apparently on the same /eixo/ of logic and - a star for /location/.
