6.3.3 Types of Award (str. 72)
There are five types of approval:
• MPhil
• MPhil with the possibility of transfer to PhD
• PhD subject to confirmation of candidature
12 CONFIRMATION OF APPROVAL AS A DOCTORAL CANDIDATURE (str.101)
This process is designed to support the research candidate and provide a check on the level of the research. Candidates must clearly demonstrate that there is evidence of originality in the research, that a significant contribution to knowledge is being made and that there is potential for a successful outcome at the doctoral level
