I think my problem is that I had confused چمنزار with چمن. While چمن is, I believe, a lawn often inside a property, چمنزار is perhaps too big for that.

The sentence is the same:
در مقابل چمنزار روبه‌روی خانه‌ام، جاده‌ای وجود داشت که به محل استقرار قشر خدمتکاران منتهی می‌شد.
