Discussion

brigidm (asker) Sep 19, 2007:
I've found one possible solution with Storebrand: "Inheritance by other members. Inheritance by other members
This means that an amount is inherited from members
who die. The balance of such deceased members’ contracts
is divided among the surviving persons insured by
Storebrand Livsforsikring AS under this and other pension
schemes." See: http://www.storebrand.no/site/stb.nsf/Get/geta409f8411bbc142...$FILE/VilkaarEngelskITPgaranti.pdf .
May not be the ideal solution (which would be a fixed term) but is closer, at least.

mortality cross subsidy

Think this could be it:

"Insurance companies set their annuity rates knowing that some annuitants will die before their average life expectancy and some will live beyond it. Lifetime annuities are able to provide annuitants with an income for life because the unused funds of those who die earlier than expected help to pay the annuities of those who live on. This process is called mortality cross-subsidy."
