: Original recording can be anything, It can be the first session of series of recording sessions, original recording of certain song that is re-recorded afterwards, original recording by the autthor when there're cover versions exists, etc. Too vague.

: We no longer call it "tape" unless it is actually a tape (huge open-reel one with 12 tracks or more). Masters are now exchanged in CD/other digital formats, and are just called masters.
