As for your note, yes, that is how I would interpret it, if this is an item found in COMPANY B's history - that they are participating/participated as founding stockholders in Company A, probably in the sense suggested by Marc, below.

: One thing to keep in mind is that the 参加 here is most likely 資本参加, or what is sometimes called "capital participation" in English, but can be phrased differently, depending on the context.
