I have no idea what is "giposhi". Could it be an abbreviated form of something? Please help. Thanks.

crimp (solderless) contact

There are many names for it, but basically it's a crimp contact - like the one on the pictures in the link. Another Japanese name for it would be 圧着端子

Oh, and by the way, ギポシ is a misspelling - it's supposed to be ギボシ (hard to say with a small font - "bo" instead of "po")

ギポシ is a typo for ギボシ. See the pictures in this link. We usually see them on a bridge, Buddhist temple and "jinja" in Japan. Don't you see them in Singapore?

http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/擬宝珠

ぎぼし端子 is a lug with a shape of this at an end of a wire. See, for instance, the second one from the right in the picture in the link.

http://www.bosch.co.jp/jp/aa/products/group.asp?id=CEConnect...

This one, and most lugs of this type, has a wire crimped, in which case they are called as 圧着端子. But ギポシ refers to the shape of the end that can be screwed. It does not refer to how a wire is attached; crimped or soldered (although crimping is used most of the time).

You can see typical uses of them here:
