Japanese term

XXXを主たるYYY成分(とする)

Japanese to English Tech/Engineering Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng plastics
Sorry, I accidentally got stuck with a job full of chemistry. I'm trying to wrap my head around the structure shown above. Here's an example....

テレフタン酸、2,6—ナフアレンジカルボン酸,あるいはそれらのエステルを主たるジカルボン酸成分とし

How does this phrase come together?

Here's another one with the same pattern....

エチレングリコールもしくはテトラメチレングリコールを主たるグリコール成分とするポリエチレンテレフタレート

Thanks!

(a ...) having XXX as the main YYY component

For example

テレフタン酸、2,6—ナフアレンジカルボン酸,あるいはそれらのエステルを主たるジカルボン酸成分とし た ZZZ

becomes:

a ZZZ having テレフタン酸、2,6—ナフアレンジカルボン酸 or an ester thereof as the main dicarboxylic acid component

Thanks for the reference. I think this reference basically confirms my suggestion, at least in meaning if not in the exact words used.
