Japanese to English
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
I know this can be translated as "sales volume" but I need to differentiate 販売本数 and 売上本数...
which can both be translated as "sales volume" Anyone have any good ideas?
Thank you!

I think that this refers to how many products were actually sold.
Note from asker:
Is this answer for the term 販売本数 then? |

Just as an alternative. See: http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F70614F739591...

: In order to use "pieces," you need to know exactly what has been sold. English is not Japanese just as Legos and not Tinkertoys.

My inclination is that this may be the difference between them:
販売本数: Units for sale (units available for sale)
Units sold
Units for sale (units available for sale)
Units sold

This way you can differentiate between the products sold and products for sale.
