: I prefer your additional options, because you can't really have an inauthentic wine-growing area. This needs poetic license, as it doesn't translate easily. You could also say something like "one of Italy's most revered/hallowed".

I get the sense this refers to the industrial, yet agricultural, aspect of wine-making.
"The Sauvignon Blanc vineyard is located in the premium VITICULTURAL REGION of Gualtallary, where the vines are planted in calcareous soils at 1,400 metres above sea-level. "
