Ive Googled this in Italian and it is everywhere and can refer to many things, not necessarily the products listed in this context which is "Riso, farine, salumi, birra, Vino sono solo alcuni dei frutti della sua terra generosa".

Hi Anna fruits used in this way, especially in the plural, is figurative, as in the Italian.

thanks I had all these, but was just concerned about calling salami fruits, knowing too well that in "fruits of one's labours" etc and in other contexts it refers to yields, and can even be used to refer to money from investments. I just needed confirmation I could do this, but it seems unanimous. With regard to "sua" the land it refers to is 'of this particular farm' where "convinced that biodiversity and gastronomy are two inseparable elements."

A less flamboyant translation would be "the produce of this fertile land". I only found five instances of the Italian phrase on Google.
Depending on the context you might want to replace "this" with "its" but it probably wouldn't fit.

That is why I offered a toned down version. The important thing is that the text as a whole is well-balanced. A string of florid phrases like this would be overdoing it.

agree Michael Korovkin : Florid it is and florid it should be. In Italian it's extra-florid, not to say outright tacky. So I don't see why it should be toned down in translation... rather! Like relics like balm.

Perhaps. But by nature all the products listed come from the earth. I took the "sua" to refer to the region but it depends what the previous sentence was.

probably best to avoid 'earth', as it suggests the soil, which is not where salumi come from.

I think the connection between pigs and soil is just a bit too tenuous to work with.

sorry, I also like soil, as in the traditon of rich soils, ... which grows the orghanic grass that pigs eat ... :)

I'm not entirely convinced by the idea of calling processed products like salami (or wine, or beer) "fruits", which rather suggests something that you just have to pick, Garden of Eden style.

I would be tempted to focus on the notion of "generosity" and underline it with the alliteration of "gift", which also has a certain biblical resonance.
