Italian term

Maggiori rimaneggiamenti degenerativi ....

Italian to English Medical Medical (general) CT REPORT
Hello this is Naomi again!
I am working on this medical report: CT ABDOMEN + THORAX REPORT

(FOLLOW UP ESOPHAGEAL CANCER)

CONTEXT:
"Allo scheletro, no cedimenti somatici vertebrali.
Maggiori rimaneggiamenti degenerarivi al passaggio dorso lombare e lombo-sacrale.
Non lesioni focali"

After doing some researches, this is my rendition:

"Major degenerative changes affect the DL (dorso-lumbar) transition and lumbosacral area."

I think it can be improved..any idea?

Thank you very much!

Naomi H.

Hi Naomi,
degenerative changes is fine!

The Italian "dorsali" is "thoracic" in English, so I would translate that as the "thoracolumbar transition" (zone or area). You don't need to add the verb "affect", butif you use a verb "can be seen", "are visible", etc. would sound more natural in an radiology report.

"Sagittal spinal alignment changes as children grow, especially in the cervicothoracic, thoracolumbar, and lumbosacral transition areas."
