However, there are gastrointestinal conditions that are non-allergic in nature, which ... cause of colic is trapped wind, or a transient increase in intestinal motility.
so it is possible "sospensione" means "delay"
sorry not to be more helpful, my Italian is not 100% as you know, but this may give some ideas

this would tie in with a medication used to obtain a shorter gastric emptying time....
as the cause of colic is trapped wind, or a transient increase in intestinal motility.
So, were intestinal motility slowed down/delayed, this would improve the baby's condition

digestive aid
"gastrofunzionale" simply means here that it helps the gastrointestinal tract work better, i.e. it helps digestion. The suspension bit is repetitive - after all they are drops! They usually contain probiotics (fermenti lattici) and/or simethicon or other anti-foaming agents. The translation may also hinge on the ingredients in the liquid. It may be specifically for flatulence or for pain, in which case you might want to tailor your translation accordingly, to stress its gas reducing or soothing effects.

I agree it is Italian English. However, the dmgit reference seems to show the box label of the drug; hence "gastric functional" may be the 'official' English translation chosen by the Italian company. If Colinox is what you are translating about, you could check this with the client.

Note from asker:
Hi Anne, many thanks for the comment. I found these references but disregarded them on account of the poor quality of the English, in fact they seem to be written by Italians. |
In fact so far I have opted for gastric functional. Good to hear some confirmation. Many thanks. |
