for-profit temporary association

It seems very important to say "for profit" because some of the members (foundations, co-operatives) are probably normally non-profit associations.

The term asked for is this Paul: "Associazione temporanea a scopo di lucro", which explicitly states "for-profit". Although on investigation I think it may be a careless mistake of the asker "a scopo" rather than "a scopo di lucro". However foundations and co-ops are not companies and if we are looking for a generic term, then "organisation" as in non-profit org and NGO is the one generally used.

neutral Paul O'Brien : any refs? rather, if they are NON-PROFIT they should state so./i haven't got a clue what you're talking about. what's a non-profit org got to do with it? apart from proving my point, that is? :-)/your refs are all preceded by a "not".
