Tra le due proposte che tu proponi "odd" è la migliore. Anche "peculiar" va bene. Oppure potresti usare più liberta ed essere più specifico. Per es., si potrebbe parlare del carattere bizzarro, stravagante del monsignore...

In answer: the site would not accept "Cecilia" or "Maria",
which are common names, and ever since I was little people have been calling me "Parrot" because I could assimilate practically anything I heard in any language, although they doubted if I understood.
