DDI allows you to increase the amount of telephone numbers available for use with ISDN 2e lines configured as System Access. Using DDI you can allocate individual extensions their own telephone numbers, so people can ring your employees directly, without going via your switchboard. DDI is often used with Line Hunting. Line Hunting enables incoming calls, made to a specific number, to be answered by a group of extensions within the office. If the first extension that is offered the call is busy, the call is automatically sent to the next available phone, until the call is answered.
