wild greens

Sounds like a trip to Umbria, which is where I live!
They use "misticanza" here to mean wild greens. In other words, the greens are picked out back behind the restaurant.
So I'd use "wild greens" to alert the recipe reader. Misticanza can be quite bitter and a lot of people seem to prefer "garden-variety" lettuce.

Below is a recipe (in Italian) from Grosseto, and it lists wild spinach in the "misticanza".
