sistema improprio

Homework / test Italian to English Other Finance (general)
In a balance sheet: sistema improprio di beni altrui presso di noi", "sistema improprio degli impegni"; "sistema improprio dei rischi." I know that "garanzie improprie" and secondary guarantees, but I can't quite make out what these are. Indirect?
