Italian to English Tech/Engineering Engineering (general) furniture

No idea.

Perhaps a small table (there's no pdf with photos of this catalogue I'm translating) which seems to have various levels, according to the text:

"L’evoluzione strutturata del classico tavolino d’appoggio anni ’60, offre supporto a “multipiano”.

D'appoggio seems almost redundant; naturally you rest things on tables. But perhaps there's a way of working it in. Perhaps indicating that the table serves some specific function. I came across "handtisch" in a German translation (on proz) of tavolino d'appoggio; reverse translating into English yields "hand table", but ridiculous results on google images for that term make me not want to use it.

I really have no other information about this item: the line above is the only one in the text describing this particular piece of furniture, and as mentioned, there's no photo.

Any ideas?
