Italian term

resina ureica catalizzatore

Italian to English Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng
I am proofreading a large translation on different types of detergents and just need a bit of input so that I can confirm some of the terms.
In this case, it is the word "catalizzatore" that I'm interested in - I suppose that it is used as an adjective here.
The product described is a fabric sizing.

I appreciate your help!

urea resin catalyst

It's really going to depend on the full sentance.

Urea resins are often used for sizing and they are catalyzed (a substance is added to aid the cure (cross-link) reaction).

So, depending on how your sentance is phrased, this should be a urea resin catalyst.
It could also be a catalysed urea resin, but I would have expected the Italian to be "catalizzato" not "catalizzatore"

If you give some further context it would help!

Thanks for the additional info. It sounds like the mistake is in the Italian and they are speaking about a catalyzed urea resin sizing. The other possibility is that they are refering to just the catalyst, in which case it would be a "catalyst for urea resin".

I think I might as the author for confirmation if you are still in doubt.

I just thought of something else: could it be missing just a "," (if it is a list). Then the use of "catalizzatore" would make sense as it would be another ingredient in the formulation.
Note from asker:
Hi Kimberly, thanks for your help. The only other context I have is that "resina ureica catalizzatore" is listed under the heading "composizione" - referring to the fabric sizing.
Hi KImberly, I don't think so, it is not a list, just the composition all on one line. I will ask the client.

catalytic urine resin/pitch

"catalizzatore" it is an adjective in this context. Depending on the context, it could also be a derivative from "mediator". This term is more frequently used in chemical vocabulary.
