From a chemical method using gas chromatography:

"Si pesa circa 1gr +/- 0,1gr di polimero da estrarre ; nel caso in cui il campione sia umido, **si strizza con una retina** e si preleva 1gr necessario per l’analisi GC e contemporaneamente 1gr per la determinazione del % secco a cui riferire successivamente il risultato analitico"

I understand the concept but am not sure what term would be used to convey "strizzare" in this context.
