It's an architectural term that my dictionary indicates as being a form of decoration on a building. Sadly the text doesn't lend itself to "form of decoration" as a nifty translation and I wonder if any of you kind folkZ out there know the right or more appropriate expression. Here's the sentence:
"Quindi se i basamenti delle aule sono più compatti e rivestiti in *marmo di Carrara a ricorsi lucidati* montato su parete ventilata, i corpi degli uffici sono caratterizzati dalla vetratura pressocchè continua dei curtain-wall, rigati orizzontalmente dalla fitta sequenza di brise-soleil in alluminio che riprende la sequenza dei *ricorsi in pietra* dei corpi adiacenti"

non conoscevo il termine inglese, ma il Dizionario tecnico dell'edilizia Neuteboom-Francescato riporta:
"Ricorso: fila di elementi orizzontali che formano un muro (vedi corrente, corso) = course"
