Info on artificial insemination in animals is less abundant than in humans, even though it's much more common, but considering the analogous term in human artificial insemination, "recipient parents" (referring to sperm/egg donors, specifically - see web references), we can arrive at "recipient female" via this route as well.

Hard to know sometimes whether you need the literal translation, a variant of it, (lit. riceventi=receiving -> recipient) or if the best term is completely unrelated etymologically. Guess that's why translators get paid the big bucks ;)
