spa centre

I would call it "spa centre" in preference of "health centre".

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thank you...this one was really difficult...health centre sounds too much like a direct translation...My American friend, who proofread this time went along with spa centre... @Anne-Marie, you are right about what one might think just hearing the term, but since it is used in a sentence, the context is clear... Thanks to all involved, also for providing your references... Martin"

neutral Anne-Marie Grant (X) : Health centre has overtones of a building where doctors/nurses etc see patients//@ littlebalu: for a GB audience, Health Resort is OK but a Health Centre is not a place they go to on holiday!!

Agree. I've already written that I consider Kurzentrum to be health resort. Should I repost my answer with health resort only?
agree Ulrike Kraemer : @Anne-Marie: but that's what it is - at least in Germany, see http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kur // Added: no need to repost your answer. Your added comment will suffice. :-) // I'd go with health centre because there ARE doctors there who treat patients.

Thank you. Do you vote for centre or resort?)

Martin - to me, spa centre sounds like where you would go to buy spa supplies. Spa and spa resort are very similar but to my ear, spa resort sounds like a bigger deal. A spa can be a couple of rooms inside a hotel or health club, whereas a spa resort is a large area entirely dedicated to spa facilities.
Note from asker:
So what's the difference between a spa and a spa resort???..resort seems redundant...I currently tend towards spa centre as suggested by Marga Shaw...
