Idealwochen

German to English Marketing Tourism & Travel
This appears in a list of hotel package deals: Adventpauschalen
Jännerpauschalen
"Pongi"-Pauschalen
Idealwochen-Pauschalen
Firnwochen und Osterwochen
Ladies Week

The following is offered during the "Idealwochen":

27.02. bis 06.03.2010 und vom 06.03. bis 13.03.2010

7 Tage Übernachtung inklusive 6 Tages-Skipass für Ski amadé
Abwechlsungsreiches Frühstücksbuffet
4-gängiges Abendessen (nationale, internationale Speisen und Kindergerichte)
Tägliches Salatbuffet
Bauernbuffet
Candlelight Dinner
2x pro Woche Kaffeekränzchen und Skijause
Freie Benützung unserer Wellnessanlage (Sauna-Landschaft; Infrarot und Solarium extra)
Spiele und Bibliothek

I think perhaps it is getting at the notion that these are the perfect weeks for skiing, but I cannot think of an English equivalent.

Discussion

British Diana Oct 21, 2009:
I agree, "agrees" are worth something, too! Well, Bernhard, how can I not endorse any advice coming from someone with such a high points level as yourself! You are quite right - achieving "agrees" is a reward in itself - and points may follow in time.
TAL for your encouragement
Diana
Bernhard Sulzer Oct 20, 2009:
@British Diana Lots of agrees will help trust you even more next time around. And the people here take note of your 4 agrees, I am sure. KudoZ on! :)
British Diana Oct 20, 2009:
Bernhard Sulzer Oct 18, 2009:
@franglish ;)
franglish Oct 18, 2009:
@Bernhard my price mention is in parenthesis, just addidional info for prozzers!
Bernhard Sulzer Oct 17, 2009:
best skiing conditions It seems to refer to the best/ideal skiing conditions, not the most expensive times:

franglish Oct 17, 2009:
it's the time of skiing holidays, snow is ideal (and prices high!) Why not "The ideal skiing weeks", as the emphasis is on skiing anyway?

ideal weeks

I wonder if you can't 'ideal weaks' in English (Idealwochen isn't common in German either).
It might refer to the term 'Ideallinie'

To successfully ski the ideal line it is essential ....

Peer comment(s):

agree Bernhard Sulzer : or: ideal skiing weeks: definitely has to do with the snow-/weather conditions. I checked the website: http://www.pongauerhof.at/de/preise/pauschalen-winter.html#m...

maybe even "high-season"

agree Helen Shiner : 'Prime weeks' sounds fine to me
2 hrs
Thanks, Helen!
neutral Bernhard Sulzer : there are more expensive dates, distinguishable from the "Idealwochen"; // what I mean is it's too inclusive-sounding (of other weeks), prime can also mean spring // it might also indicate most expensive/busiest (IMO).
2 hrs
so that's why "prime" is suitable, indicating the best winter time/ski conditions
neutral Lonnie Legg : I like the sound of 'prime weeks' too, but Bernhard has a good point about it's common association w. high rates: "Cottage rent only weekly during prime season which includes Christmas..."

Thanks, Bernhard .( You sure have a lot of points!)
agree Lisa Davey : I prefer "perfect weeks for skiing" (even though the dates sound as if they may be a bit close to British half-term holidays for comfort!)
